Arsenal's Mathieu Flamini: 'We have a strong belief'

Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini feels that there is a good spirit among the squad this season as they have been able to rally from disappointing displays.

Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini feels that he and his teammates have shown belief to respond to disappointing performances this season.

The Gunners were heavily criticised for their 3-2 defeat to Stoke City, which culminated in Arsene Wenger being abused by a small group of fans at a train station.

However, Arsenal rallied with back-to-back victories - in the Champions League against Galatasaray, and their 4-1 win over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Flamini told the club's official website: "It's the belief of the team that we can really achieve something, and I think you [media] guys agree as well that we have top quality.

"We have a lot of quality - strong at the back, good in midfield and up front as well - so the only problem is we're very unlucky with injuries.

"I definitely believe we have the quality in the team to achieve something big. It's not easy to go through all these games with so many injuries, but I believe in my team and I believe in their quality."

Arsenal are sixth in the Premier League table following their win over the Magpies.
