Arsenal's Hector Bellerin reveals that he has undergone successful surgery after rupturing his ACL earlier this month.

Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin has confirmed that he has undergone successful surgery on a knee injury that has ruled him out for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during his side's victory over London rivals Chelsea earlier this month, and it was subsequently confirmed that he would be forced to spend up to nine months on the sidelines as a result.

Earlier this week Bellerin flew to his native Spain for specialist treatment and in a tweet today, he confirmed that he had made it through his operation "with ease".

The Gunners have spent the last fortnight scouting the transfer market for replacements for Bellerin, with Aissa Mandi of Real Betis and Napoli's Kevin Malcuit touted as potential targets, although a lack of funds has limited the club to pursuing loan deals only.
