The Washington Wizards could reportedly be a legitimate option for Kevin Durant if he becomes a free agent in 2016, as a return home would potentially appeal to him.
By refusing to give Trevor Ariza a significant new contract, it is suggested that the Wizards are leaving the door open to a possible offer to Durant.
"I was told that if there is a team that would be strongly considered, it is the Washington Wizards, and him returning home," commentator Stephen A Smith told ESPN.
With LeBron James returning home this summer to re-join the Cleveland Cavaliers, the same has been suggested for Durant but experts remain sceptical over the likelihood of a possible switch considering that he is settled at the Oklahoma City Thunder.
