New York Knicks star JR Smith has revealed that he believes he may have 'upset the NBA Gods' last season.
The 28-year-old received a one-game suspension for an elbow on Jason Terry in Game 3 of the first round playoff series against the Boston Celtics.
"I call it pissing the NBA Gods off," Smith said, according to ESPN New York
"You're making, making, making a lot of shots — and you mess with the basketball game and the game gets you back. And it definitely got me back."
In eight appearances thereafter, he failed to shoot over 38.5% of his shots as the Knicks bowed out in the next round.
