The Minnesota Timberwolves have confirmed that they have chosen to pick up fourth-year contract options on both Ricky Rubio and Derrick Williams.
Point guard Rubio was a key player for the Wolves last season and he impressed many on his way to averaging 10.7 points per game, despite the team failing in their bid to book a spot in the playoffs.
Williams played 78 games for the Timberwolves during the last campaign but reports prior to the start of pre-season suggested that the franchise would consider not exercising their contract option.
However, the 22-year-old is now set to spend at least the next two seasons with the team that selected him with the second pick in the 2011 draft.
