Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders could step into the team's vacant head coaching role, according to a report in the press.
The Wolves are yet to name a permanent head coach following the departure of the retiring Rick Adelman, with the situation thought to be complicated due to the uncertainly over star player Kevin Love's future.
According to a report on the official NBA website, two unnamed sources have told The AP that Saunders could step into the current vacancy, with a press conference being called for Friday.
Saunders has already enjoyed one stint as coach of the Wolves, having been at the team's helm for 10 years between 1995 and 2005.
