Memphis Grizzlies elect to waive Fab Melo just two weeks after the Brazilian joined from the Boston Celtics.

The Memphis Grizzlies have elected to waive Fab Melo just two weeks after agreeing a deal to bring the Brazilian to the FedExForum.

Forward Donte Greene was sent to thee Boston Celtics to allow the Grizzlies to acquire Melo, who played just six games in the NBA last season.

The 23-year-old had spent most of his time at the Maine Red Claws last season, playing 33 games for the NBA D-League team.

Melo was the 22nd pick in the 2012 draft following two impressive years for Syracuse University.
