Donald Sterling's attempts to block the $2bn (£1.1bn) sale of the Los Angeles Clippers to new owner Steve Ballmer have been blocked by a Californian appeals court.
Former Microsoft CEO Ballmer will be allowed to continue with his ownership of the team uninterrupted after the 2nd District Court of Appeal issued an order stating that it could not stop a sale that had already been completed.
"The evidence before this court indicates the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers to Steven Ballmer has closed," the court wrote, The AP reports.
"Thus, there is nothing for this court to stay."
Ballmer completed his purchase of the rising NBA club on Tuesday.
