NBA roundup: Winning runs for Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder end

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Wednesday evening's games in the NBA.

The Denver Nuggets' seven-game winning streak came to an end when the team travelled to the Cleveland Cavaliers last night.

Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson had their best performances of the season for the Cavaliers to give the team their first back-to-back wins of the season.

The Oklahoma City Thunder also lost their winning streak, as the Portland Trail Blazers ended their eight-game unbeaten spell.

LaMarcus Aldridge starred with a season-high 38 points and 13 rebounds to move the Blazers to a 16-3 record, which is the best in the Western Conference.

Kyle Korver returned from a four-game absence through injury to post season-best figures in the Atlanta Hawks' 10-point victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

The small forward also tied the NBA record for most games with a three-point basket as the Hawks ended their two-game slide.

The Indiana Pacers needed a good second half to secure their first win over the Utah Jazz since 2005.

Paul George, who was hampered by a cold, struggled with his shooting, but Lance Stephenson and Luis Scola stepped up to help the Eastern Conference player of the month, opening up a comfortable lead late in the fourth quarter.

A strong second-half performance helped the Detroit Pistons clinch a 105-98 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Brandon Jennings added 17 points and 11 assists against his former team, while Andre Drummond picked up 24 and 19 rebounds as the Pistons overturned a five-point half-time deficit to secure the win.

The Dallas Mavericks needed a late comeback to end to New Orleans Pelicans' three-game unbeaten run.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 11 of his 21 points inside the fourth quarter, putting the visitors ahead with just over 30 seconds left to play before securing the win with a pair of free throws just eight seconds from full time.

The Phoenix Suns picked up their first win in three outings in their meeting with the Houston Rockets.

Eric Bledsoe led the team with 20 points to inflict the second straight defeat on the home side.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves' game against the San Antonio Spurs was postponed because of a generator fire at the venue.

The game, which had been due to take place in Mexico City, was called off when the arena had to be evacuated 45 minutes before tipoff as the court filled with smoke.

The game will be rescheduled to take place in Minnesota at a later date.
