LeBron James: 'I will lead Cleveland Cavaliers next season'

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James says that he will act as the team's leader, having made his move from the Miami Heat during the off-season.

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James has said that he is looking to lead his new franchise when the new season gets underway next month.

James joined the Cavs as the summer's blockbuster free agent deal after leaving the Miami Heat, with the experienced frontman stating that he will be looking to serve as a figurehead in David Blatt's lineup.

"I will be the leader of the team," James said, according to The AP.

"I believe I bring leadership qualities that a lot of guys either don't want or just don't know how to do it - and I can. I can lead by example. I can lead by voice. I can lead by command and I can lead by just my presence.

"That's the most important thing for me. That's what I'm more excited about than anything."

The Cavs get their highly-anticipated campaign underway against the New York Knicks on October 30.
