Victor Cruz expects to be "fully healthy" by May

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz believes that he will fully recover from knee surgery in time for the team's off-season organised team activities.

Victor Cruz has said that he expects to be "fully healthy" in time for the New York Giants' off-season organised team activities next May.

The wide receiver underwent knee surgery earlier this month after bruising his MCL and also sustaining a concussion during the 23-0 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks.

The 27-year-old told the team's official website: "Everything happened on that play. I got a mild concussion as well as a bruised MCL on that specific play, and then the MRI showed that I needed some extra clean up stuff in there as well.

"We just went and got it done as quickly as possible, so we can stay ahead of the rehab and make sure I'm ready to go for next year.

"I expect to be fully healthy and getting after it during OTA's. The expected rehab time should be about a month and a half to two months. We'll see how it goes. I want to take it extremely slow and make sure I come back at 100%, not out there wary and kind of timid."

Cruz finished the season with 998 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
