United States claim bronze in luge

Erin Hamlin takes bronze in the luge competition, behind Natalie Geisenberger and Tatjana Huefner of Germany.

United States luge athlete Erin Hamlin has come third in the final on Tuesday, claiming bronze behind two Germans Natalie Geisenberger and Tatjana Huefner.

Geisenberger was the woman to beat throughout qualification and claimed gold by almost a 10th of a second from teammate Huefner with her time of 50.189.

Huefner's time was 50.279, with Hamlin at 50.348. Geisenberger was the only rider to go down the course across all four runs in under 3:20, with 3:19.768 her total time.

Kate Hansen, also of the US, made it into 10th with 3:22.667 overall.
