USA's Ted Ligety wins gold in giant slalom

United States skier Ted Ligety takes gold in the men's giant slalom at the Sochi Winter Olympics.

The 29-year-old, who came into the Sochi Games as the world champion, clocked 2:45.29 across his two runs.

France's Steve Missilier finished 0.48 seconds behind to take the silver medal, while his compatriot Alexis Pinturault claimed bronze with a time of 2:45.93.

Ligety's teammate Bode Miller finished in 20th place.
