USA snowboarder Shaun White wants to compete in 2018

United States snowboarder Shaun White reveals that he would like to compete in the 2018 Winter Olympics after failing to pick up a medal in Sochi.

United States snowboarder Shaun White has revealed that he is desperate to compete in the next Winter Olympics in 2018 after missing out on a medal in Sochi.

The 27-year-old finished in fourth place in the half-pipe as he missed out on securing his third gold medal in as many Olympic Games, following his successes in Vancouver and Turin.

White told BBC Sport: "The last thing I want to think and speak about at the moment is the next Olympics as this has just happened, but I would love to go to another.

"It was an honour to be here and part of it and I would love to be there [in 2018] - but as for now, that is a long way off."

Switzerland's Iouri Podladtchikov won the event with a score of 94.75.
