Brother: 'Vic Wild to go down in history'

Russian Federation snowboarder Vic Wild is "in a whole different stratosphere", according to his brother Mike.

United States-born snowboarder Vic Wild, who currently competes for the Russian Federation, is "in a whole different stratosphere", according to his brother.

The 27-year-old took gold in the men's snowboarding parallel slalom competition earlier today, defeating Zan Kosir in the big final, and sibling Mike Wild has been quick to praise the Washington-born athlete.

"This right here, two golds, this puts him in a whole different stratosphere," Wild's brother, Mike, told reporters. "He'll go down in history. This is what it's all about."

The result ensures that Wild is the first athlete to win two snowboarding goals in the same Olympic Games after winning the men's parallel giant slalom on Wednesday.
