American snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis has adopted a stray dog at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, following mass killings of strays before and during the Games by Russian authorities.

Animal activists have been smuggling stray dogs out of Sochi in an attempt to save them from being killed.
