Great Britain's women's curling team kept their hopes of reaching the semi-finals at the 2014 Winter Olympics on track with a 9-6 win over Russia at the Ice Cube Curling Centre.
The match started as an even contest as Team GB edged in front after the second end, but they were pegged back by the host nation who took a 2-1 lead in the third end.
However, Eve Muirhead's side kept their composure and stole the lead back as they picked up a two in the fourth, but again Russia were not to be kept down as they brought themselves level in the fifth.
The decisive moment in the game came in the eighth as Team GB capitalised on mistakes from Anna Sidorova's side, leaving Muirhead with the chance to give her side a four-point lead, and she didn't disappoint as she knocked her counterpart's stone out of the circle with an inch-perfect throw.
Yet again, the Russians responded and this time it was Muirhead's side making the mistakes. That allowed Russia to bring themselves within a point as they scored a three in the ninth, leaving a tense finale.
Team GB held their nerve to end the host nation's chances of reaching the last four when Muirhead knocked Sidorova's stones out to clinch a two to secure her side's win, their fifth of the competition.
Great Britain face Denmark in their next match later today.
