Jackie Lockhart: 'Eve Muirhead won't shy away from big shots'

Former Great Britain curler Jackie Lockhart feels that skip Eve Muirhead won't be frightened to make big shots in her side's semi-final clash with Canada on Wednesday.

Former Great Britain curler Jackie Lockhart believes that Eve Muirhead will not be "afraid" to make big shots in her side's semi-final clash at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Muirhead led her side into the last four of the competition as they won five out of their nine games in the round-robin stage, but will face unbeaten Canada at the Ice Cube Curling Centre for a place in the final.

Lockhart told BBC Sport: "Eve has grown up massively over the last four years. She's still only 23 but she's very professional on the ice.

"She is a fiery character who will crucify herself if she doesn't make a shot 100%, and she can't allow that to happen in the semi-final.

"She has got to be focused and she is not afraid to make the big shots, which is what will worry Canada skip Jennifer Jones."

The 23-year-old led her side to gold in the World Championships last year.
