Greg Drummond: 'We didn't want extra end'

Team GB curling third Greg Drummond admits that the team did not want to face an extra end in their playoff win over Norway at the 2014 Sochi Games.

Great Britain curling third Greg Drummond has revealed that the team did not want to take their chances in an extra end in their playoff against Norway.

Skip David Murdoch was able to take out two of their opponents' stones with his final effort of the match to see Team GB through to the semi-finals of the 2014 Sochi Games.

The 25-year-old told reporters: "It's my first Olympics and I'm in the semi-finals. We weighed up our chances of stealing in the extra end and we decided the odds were better going for the win.

"You might have a go at that shot in the middle of the game and no-one would think anything of it but to win it's different and to win to make the semi-finals of the Olympics makes it the best he's played all season."

Britain will face Sweden for a place in the final tomorrow.
