Lamin Deen feeling confident ahead of four-man bobsleigh event

Great Britain pilot Lamin Deen says that becoming familiar with the bobsleigh track gives him hope ahead of Saturday's first four-man heat.

Great Britain's Lamin Deen has stated that he is confident ahead of the four-man bobsleigh event, despite a poor result in the two-man competition at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

Pilot Deen and brakeman John Baines came 23rd this evening, while Alexander Zubkov and Alexey Voevoda of host nation Russia claimed the gold.

Following the event, Deen told TeamGB.com: "I am sad that the two-man is over. It was a huge bonus to qualify in the two-man first of all. It is not my best discipline let's just say and to qualify in the top 30 over 100 drivers in the world is fantastic.

"The track is very unforgiving, if you make mistakes at the top of the track it will kill your speed as I found out in the second heat.

"However, this final heat was a lot quicker, a lot cleaner and it gives me confidence going into the four-man.
From last year at the test event to now this is just my 16th run down this track and that shows I'm doing something right."

The men's four-man heats begin in Sochi on Saturday.
