Paralympic skier Jade Etherington has revealed that she retired from the sport because she did not receive much backing from her governing body.
The 23-year-old, who is visually impaired, quit the sport earlier this month and has hit out at the lack of support offered to her, despite the British Disabled Ski Team receiving £2.7m in funding from UK Sport following Sochi 2014.
"If there was support there, be it coach or management, then it definitely would have changed my decision," Etherington told BBC Sport.
"Even though they have this funding, if the support and the structure is not there then it's not worth it. I'd rather be happy and [have] no money."
Etherington won four medals in Sochi earlier this year.
