Switzerland's Sandro Viletta did not expect gold medal

Sandro Viletta says that winning the men's super combined event at the Sochi Games is "more than a dream come true".

Switzerland skier Sandro Viletta has admitted that he did not expect to win the men's super combined event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi on Friday.

The 28-year-old, who finished 14th in the Vancouver Games four years ago, has won only one World Cup race in his career.

"This is amazing, it's perfect, it's more than a dream come true," the Japan Times quotes him as saying.

"It's also a big shock. I didn't think I would come first. I'm so happy."

Croatia's Ivica Kostelic won the silver medal, while Christof Innerhofer of Italy claimed bronze.
