Sweden claim tie-break victory over China in bronze medal match

Sweden win bronze in the men's curling after coming from behind to secure a dramatic tie-break win over China at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Sweden's men came from behind to beat China courtesy of a tie-break in the men's curling bronze medal match at the Winter Olympics in Sochi this afternoon.

On the back of a dramatic defeat to Great Britain in the semi-finals, the Swedes picked up three stones in a row to ensure that they would be on the podium after all.

The scores were tied at one apiece after four ends before Sweden, who had the best record during the round robin stage of the competition, sneaked into a 2-1 advantage at the halfway point.

China rallied to take two stones from the sixth end, and the Asian nation maintained their one-point lead until the decisive 10th end, which began with the scores at 4-3.

Sweden pulled one back in a tense finish to force a tie-break, which they won with two stones after blocking China's final shot on the rink, as the scores finished 6-4 to the Europeans.
