Japanese bronze medallist Noriaki Kasai "feels 32 again"

Japan's team ski jumping medal winner Noriaki Kasai says that winning bronze with his teammates makes him feel like a 30-something again.

Japan's Noriaki Kasai has joked that winning a bronze medal in the men's team ski jumping competition makes him feel young again.

The 41-year-old veteran was part of a four-man group alongside Reruhi Shimizu, Daiki Ito and Taku Takeuchi which came third, behind Germany and Austria, winning the Japanese their first medal in the event since the 1998 Games in Nagano.

Kasai won a silver medal in the individual large hill event last week, with his only previous Olympic medal coming 20 years ago.

He told the Japan Times: "I was crying at the end. These memories will be kept forever. The individual was more precious, but the team is more important.

"Of course I actually wanted gold, but the color doesn't mean anything anymore. I'm just very happy. Being in the Olympics means being the best in the world and this makes me want to continue. I feel 32 again!"

Japan's score of 1,024.9 at the RusSki Gorki Jump Centre clinched their sixth medal of Sochi 2014.
