Aileen Reid: "I gave it everything I had"

Northern Ireland athlete Aileen Reid says that she gave 'everything she had' in the women's triathlon at the Commonwealth Games.

Northern Ireland athlete Aileen Reid has revealed that she was pleased with her sixth-placed finish in the women's triathlon this afternoon.

Reid, who finished in just under two hours in Motherwell, insisted that she gave the race 'everything that she had'.

"I gave it everything I had... I can't turn my nose up at that, the girls that were there were world class," she told reporters.

Team England's Jodie Stimpson won gold, while teammate Vicky Holland took bronze.
