Andy Murray gets inspiration from LeBron James

Andy Murray believes that he can mirror basketball star LeBron James and clinch his first Grand Slam title.

Andy Murray has compared his challenge to claim his first Grand Slam title to that of basketball star LeBrom James.

The British number one is one game away from reaching the Wimbledon final after securing victory in four sets over David Ferrer in the quarter-final clash yesterday.

Murray believes that like James, who finally clinched his first NBA Championship with Miami Heat last month, he can add his first Grand Slam to his list of achievements.

"There were a lot of people who said LeBron would never win," said Murray. "That he never played his best in finals and that in the fourth quarter of games, he never stepped up.

"Then you see how he played the whole of the Finals, the whole of the playoffs. Sometimes it takes some guys a bit longer than others. I've been close a lot of times and not quite made it. I have to keep putting myself in the position and hopefully it will click."

Murray will meet Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semi-final match at SW19 tomorrow.
