Eugenie Bouchard has insisted that she is not shocked about reaching her first-ever Grand Slam final at the age of 20 following her semi-final victory over Simona Halep at Wimbledon.
The Canadian secured her place in the women's final following a 7-6(5) 6-2 win on Centre Court over the French Open finalist.
"It took mental strength to stay focused, but it is important to enjoy it out there and focus on the point," Bouchard told BBC Sport. "I am really excited. I have a day off tomorrow. It is my first Grand Slam final and I will just go for it.
"I would never say I was surprised because I have put in a lot of hard work in and it has been a long time in the making. I am always wanting to better myself and I am focused."
Bouchard will take on Petra Kvitova for the Wimbledon title.
