Jerzy Janowicz took on compatriot Lukasz Kubot at Wimbledon this afternoon, with the prize on offer a place in history as Poland's first male Grand Slam semi-finalist.
It was Janowicz who edged ahead in a brutal first set, using a fierce first serve to ease clear of the veteran Kubot in the early stages.
