Caroline Wozniacki has offered another example of her improving form by thrashing Sara Errani 6-0 6-1 in the quarter-finals of the US Open.
Despite the one-sided scoreline, it was a difficult start for Wozniacki as she was forced to defend four break points in the opening game before eventually holding her serve.
Wozniacki then quickly found her range by taking control of the contest with some unstoppable ground strokes, which helped her to break Errani on three occasions.
After seeing the first set slip away in just 30 minutes, Errani responded in perfect fashion by claiming a break in the first game of the second set.
However, the 13th seed was unable to make the early advantage count as Wozniacki immediately broke back before finding her rhythm once again.
Wozniacki's confidence was clear for everyone to see in the latter stages of the match as the Dane displayed all of her weapons on the way to breaking two more times.
There would be no later heroics from Errani, with the Italian looking powerless to prevent the inevitable on a comfortable night for Wozniacki in New York.
