World number two Agnieszka Radwanska booked her place in the second round of the US Open this afternoon.
The 23-year-old required just under one hour to see off the challenge of Nina Bratchikova at Flushing Meadows.
Radwanska took control of the match during the early exchanges and went on to break her Russian opponent at the first time of asking. She eventually served out to take the set 6-1.
The second set followed a similar trend and despite having a heavily-strapped shoulder, the Pole secured her slot in the next round with another 6-1 success.
She will now face either Ksenia Pervak or Carla Suarez Navarro for a place in round three.
