Dominic Inglot, Robert Lindstedt miss out on US Open doubles final

Dominic Inglot and Robert Lindstedt miss out on a place in the men's doubles final at the US Open after losing to French duo Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut.

Great Britain's Dominic Inglot has missed out on a place in the US Open men's doubles final alongside Robert Lindstedt after they suffered defeat in the last four on Thursday.

The pair had enjoyed a terrific run to the semi-finals, with Inglot contributing to a win over former partner Florin Mergea on Wednesday, but they couldn't continue their form against French duo Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut.

After the opening 10 games of the first set were shared, Herbert and Mahut broke serve to move ahead, before they dominated the second to run out 7-5 6-2 winners.

Later on Thursday, Jamie Murray and John Peers will meet Steve Johnson and Sam Querrey in the other semi-final.
