Serena Williams: 'Conditions didn't suit Carla Suarez Navarro'

Serena Williams says that the conditions at the US Open favoured her after her victory over Carla Suarez Navarro.

Defending champion Serena Williams believes that she benefited from the weather conditions during her last-eight win over Carla Suarez Navarro.

The world number one required just 52 minutes to smash the Spaniard 6-0 6-0 at Flushing Meadows Tuesday.

Williams feels that her experience gave her the advantage during the quarter-final encounter.

"She's a great player," said Williams. "The conditions are so tough and it was not her best tennis today.

"I've been playing here for like 50 years so I've kind of got used to the conditions."

Williams will now face Li Na in the semi-finals.
