World number four Andy Murray has moved a step closer to retaining his Shanghai Open title after advancing into the final with a straight-sets victory over Kei Nishikori this afternoon.
Japan's Nishikori, who went reached the semi-final with victory over Alexander Dolgopolov, started the contest brightly.
However, Murray broke his opponent twice during the first set to record a 6-3 triumph.
That success appeared to boost Murray, who controlled the second set throughout to record a 6-3 6-0 win in China.
The Scot will now play David Ferrer in tomorrow's final after the Spaniard defeated Feliciano Lopez earlier.
