Petra Kvitova has beaten Samantha Stosur in straight sets to set up a semi-final showdown with Jelena Jankovic at the Rogers Cup in Toronto.

The 23-year-old Czech took one hour and 24 minutes to wrap up a commanding 6-3 6-3 victory.

Five times Kvitova saved break point on serve in the first set, and in clinical fashion she took the only one she managed to create for a one-set lead.

The 2011 Wimbledon champion broke three times on her way to taking the second set and taking one step closer to the final.
