Laura Robson has been knocked out of the BNP Paribas Katowice Open at the opening stage after losing in three sets to Lourdes Dominguez Lino.
The Briton rose to a career-high ranking of 39 this week but suffered a first-round loss to the world number 59, who was playing on her favourite clay surface.
Robson edged a hard-fought first set 7-5 and an equally close second set went to a tiebreak, which the Spaniard took 9-7.
Dominguez Lino's experience told in the decider as she got the better of several long rallies, while Robson's serve folded on the way to losing the set 6-1.
It is the second time within the space of six days that Robson has been knocked out of a tournament by lower-ranked opposition.
