Angelique Kerber knocked out by Francesca Schiavone in Antwerp

Angelique Kerber loses 6-1 6-1 to Francesco Schiavone in the second round of the Paribas Fortis Diamond Games in Antwerp.

Angelique Kerber has been knocked out of the Paribas Fortis Diamond Games in the second round following a 6-1 6-1 defeat to Francesca Schiavone.

The world number 10 lost her serve in the fourth game of the opening set and Schiavone was able to snatch a double break, despite Kerber initially saving two break points.

Schiavone was able to take the set with ease and continued her dominance by breaking her German opponent's serve at the first time of asking in the second set.

Kerber failed to bounce back and she could only hold serve once as Schiavone sealed her place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
