John Isner reaches the semi-finals of the Miami Open after a comfortable 6-4 6-3 win over Kei Nishikori on Thursday afternoon.

John Isner has reached the semi-finals of the Miami Open after a 6-4 6-3 win over Kei Nishikori on Thursday afternoon.

The 6'10" American besieged the 2014 US Open runner-up thanks to 13 aces, the final one coming on match point after 70 minutes.

Nishikori managed only five winners while Isner piled on 33 and maintained his perfect record on serve in the tournament.

Up next for Isner will be either top seed Novak Djokovic or sixth-seeded David Ferrer, who will face off on Thursday evening.
