David Ferrer eases into third round of Miami Masters

David Ferrer secures a straight-sets win over Teymuraz Gabashvili to reach the third round of the Miami Masters.

David Ferrer has kept his Miami Masters campaign alive by securing a 6-4 6-0 victory over Teymuraz Gabashvili in the second round.

The fourth seed was well matched in the opening set as Gabashvili held strong on his serve, but he squandered five break points.

Ferrer was able to secure the break of serve that mattered as he pushed on to take the set, leaving Gabashvili on the back foot.

The Spaniard gave his opponent a mountain to climb when he secured a break at the first time of asking and held instantly to take a strong lead in the second set.

Despite Gabashvili showing some promise in the first set, he failed to get a game on the board as Ferrer booked a place in the third round.
