Kyle Edmund bows out in Burnie Challenger

British number three Kyle Edmund is out of the Burnie Challenger after losing in straight sets to eighth seed Chung Hyeon.

Kyle Edmund has seen his seven-match winning streak come to an end after he suffered defeat to Chung Hyeon in the quarter-finals of the Burnie Challenger.

The British number three has enjoyed a superb start to the year which has seen him move into the world's top 150 after winning a challenger in Hong Kong last week, but he was unable to sustain that run of form against the eighth seed in Australia.

The 20-year-old could only convert one of nine break points during the opening set and his 18-year-old opponent was able to capitalise to move into the lead.

Edmund was unable to pose any threat to the South Korean's serve during a one-sided second set, and Chung eventually ran out a 6-3 6-2 winner.
