Tomas Berdych eases into third round of Miami Open

Tomas Berdych earns a straight-sets win over Chung Hyeon to grab a place in the third round of the Miami Masters.

Tomas Berdych has executed a 6-3 6-4 victory over Chung Hyeon to seal a place in the third round of the Miami Masters.

The Czech pro was dealt a slight blow in the first set when his South Korean opponent broke back immediately after dropping serve.

However, Berdych recovered with a break of his own, and served for the match with ease to take a one-set lead in the United States.

A brief rain delay halted progress on the court, and once the players returned, 18-year-old Hyeon seemed to have found a spark by grabbing the first break point of the second set.

Despite showing some promise, Berdych's experience shone through as he earned a double break before cementing victory.
