Romanian number one Simona Halep has described winning the Qatar Total Open as 'the best moment of her life'.
The 22-year-old beat Germany's Angelique Kerber 6-2 6-3 in the final of the Doha event on Sunday to claim her seventh career title on the WTA circuit.
Prior to her victory over sixth seed Kerber, Halep defeated Agnieszka Radwanska and Sara Errani, seeded second and fourth respectively.
"I never believed I could win the tournament when I came here," she told reporters.
"I had been competing indoors, but mentally I am very strong and I got the feel of the balls and the court here very well.
"I have to enjoy this now as the best moment of my life."
Halep won her first Tour title in June 2013 when she triumphed on the clay of Nurnberg.
