Serena Williams has continued her impressive form by advancing to the last four of the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford.
The 30-year-old won her fifth Wimbledon title at SW19 a week ago and admitted to suffering from jet lag since flying back across the Atlantic.
She defeated Chanelle Scheppers 6-4 6-0 to reach the semi-finals of the competition she won last year.
Speaking afterwards, Williams said: "I still have major jet lag.
"I'm tired now and ready to sleep, but it felt good out there and to win."
Yanina Wickmayer faces Coco Vandeweghe in the other semi-final in California.
