British number one Andy Murray will return to action at the China Open after he was awarded a wildcard for the tournament in Beijing.
Murray, who recently reached the quarter-finals of the US Open, has fallen down to number 11 in the race for the ATP Tour finals in London after Marin Cilic and Kei Nishikori reached the final at Flushing Meadows.
That has left the 27-year-old realistically needing a tournament win or a final appearance at either of the Masters Series events in Shanghai or Paris to have a chance of breaking into the top eight.
Murray will be joined at the tournament, which begins on September 27, by Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Cilic, who will be looking to build on his surprise triumph in New York.
