Julien Benneteau has moved into round three of the Monte Carlo Masters at the expense of Jurgen Melzer this afternoon.
The Frenchman required just one break of Melzer's serve to claim the opening set 6-4.
It was a similar story in the next set as Melzer struggled to win his service games against the 30-year-old.
Benneteau went on to serve out the match to seal a 6-4 6-3 at his home tournament.
He will now face Andy Murray for a place in round four.
