Tommy Haas sees off Jack Sock in straight sets to reach the French Open third round.

Germany's Tommy Haas has advanced into the third round of the French Open with a 7-6[3] 6-2 7-5 win over America's Jack Sock.

Both men served well to begin with and there was not a break point until the ninth game when Haas saved a couple to go 5-4 in front.

With neither player able to fully trouble his opponent's serve, the opener went to a tie-break which Haas took comfortably 7-3.

In the second set Haas took an early break in the third game following an emphatic hold to love and never gave his opponent a way back into the set.

He did not give up another break point in the second and broke again in the seventh before serving his way into a two-set lead.

The third set was a much closer affair, with Sock battling to break in the second game before serving himself 3-0 up.

However at 4-1 down, Haas saved two break points before fighting back to win five of the last six games to advance to the third round in straight sets.
