Kyle Edmund advances into round two of the French Open courtesy of a four-set win over Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili.

Great Britain's number three Kyle Edmund booked his place in the second round of the French Open thanks to a 7-6(4) (7)6-7 7-5 6-1 victory over Nikoloz Basilashvili this evening.

As the light closed in over Paris, the two players shared the opening two sets evenly on tie-breakers.

However, after that, the Briton took control of proceedings to extend his participation at Roland Garros.
