Tomas Berdych knocked out 11th seed David Ferrer on Wednesday to set up a quarter-final clash against Novak Djokovic at the French Open.
The Czech, who is seeded seventh for the tournament, completed a 6-3 7-5 6-3 victory in two hours and 15 minutes on the clay court.

Ferrer was under pressure from the off as he was forced to save three break points, and he failed to improve as Berdych broke twice to wrap up the opening set in just over half an hour.
The 30-year-old almost got a taste of his own medicine when Ferrer created three break points on his opponent's opening serve of the second set, but the Spaniard squandered them.
Games went by way of serve until Berdych broke to double his lead, but it was a hard-fought set that lasted one hour and four minutes.
It was more straightforward for Berdych in the third set, though, as he broke serve once before completing the set and the match.
