Andy Murray feeling positive about French Open

Andy Murray reveals that he is feeling positive about making an impact at this year's French Open.

Andy Murray has revealed that he is feeling positive about making a strong run at this year's French Open.

The British world number eight has been drawn against world number 55 Andrey Golubev in the first round of the Grand Slam at Roland Garros.

Despite a string of inconsistent results since his return from a back injury, Murray believes that reaching the quarter-finals of the Italian Open last week should give him some momentum for Paris.

"I feel ready to have a good run here," he told BBC Sport. "Rome was a big step in the right direction and it's up to me to maintain that consistency from now through until the end of the year, because that's what's been missing and lacking so far."

Murray's best result at the French Open was a semi-final appearance in 2011.
