It took French fifth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga three sets to see off Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci in the first round of the men's Olympic singles at Wimbledon.
Bellucci, who recently won the Swiss Open, surprised Tsonga by taking the first set 7-5 in the tie-break after both players had held serve.
With both men playing powerfully from the baseline, Tsonga grabbed a decisive break in the second on his way to a 6-4 victory.
The turnaround was complete when he broke again in the third before seeing out the match 6-4.
Tsonga's reward for beating Bellucci is a second-round clash with Japan's Tatsuma Ito or Canadian Milos Raonic.
