Kim Clijsters proves to be too strong for Caroline Wozniacki as she beats her in straight sets to head into the Australian Open semi-final.

Kim Clijsters heads into her seventh semi-final after proving to be too strong for Caroline Wozniacki by beating her in straight sets 6-3 6-3 7-6.

The first set began with three breaks of serve, leading to Clijsters taking a 2-1 lead.

Clijsters continued to break serve and took the first set 3-6. Wozniacki could not handle the powerful shots that Clijsters fired at her, and it was the Belgian that dominated the first set.

Wozniacki's forehand was not powerful enough to trouble Clijsters, who continued to take everything in her stride as they went into the second set. Clijsters broke serve yet again to take a 5-3 lead - putting her within one game of the semi-final.

However, Clijsters struggled to close the game as Wozniacki broke her serve then held her own to make it 5-5. The set eventually went to a tie break, which Clijsters eventually won 4-7. The Belgian took the set 6-7 to win the match.

Clijsters now heads into the semi-final against Victoria Azarenka.
